#PLAGIARISM No More Copying of Project Work

Projects/Theses already converted into PDF files
Observations had long been made that the revolution in the ICT world has on one hand made information too easily accessible to the extent that originality of students’ essays are now doubtful and increasing enrolment in classes on the other hand has been making close supervision of students’ projects less thorough.

Since materials could also be lifted from past projects/theses  rather than solely from the internet, the University  took a step further by engaging ORACO Technology Solutions Limited to undertake the digitalisation of  2,000 past projects/theses existing in the University and build the capacity of the University to undertake a 100 percent digitalisation of all existing projects/theses/term papers/ journal papers of the students and staff of the University since inception.

In addition, a total of 9,652 students’ projects available in soft copies from the 2009/2010 session have been converted from MS Word to PDF in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) format.  The ITS Unit of the University is creating a repository – a 16 terrabyte local server to house these documents (235 Gb volume as at now). This will be linked with the TURNITIN server for the purpose of creating digital fingerprint and for the turned-in documents to be automatically searched for similarity with the contents of documents in the University’s local server.

In a nutshell 500L students have to use their minds properly now...so sad -_-

Do Nigerian Students Generally Study The Wrong Majors At Undergrad Level??

I think, generally speaking about Nigerians, that young people in the university, as well as those trying to get into university, more often choose the wrong disciplines to major in.

Wrong as in what they are not suited for, both mentally and psychologically. They now spend the rest of their youth trying to correct this mistake, and usually end up adding to it. {Spilling and Splashing as the case maybe  lol }

There is also the 'overload' factor. Take for example someone who studied Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering, and MBA as a follow-up. Usually people do this to 'enhance their job prospects'. I wonder if it really does. I know someone who did that, still did ICAN and some computer certifications into the bargain. I'm not sure what good so many diverse qualifications can do to anyone.

Either peer pressure, zero counselling available, family pressure, or desperation to get into school might be responsible for all of this. I think aptitude tests should be administered on students who are wrapping up secondary school. Maybe that way the students can be shown some things about themselves which they would never have known, and might help them with their decisions.

I met this Girl on the 31st of December 2011 and after a sex free outing she travelled back to school only to come back on 29th of March 2013 and since then she has been on my neck asking for sex.

Some days back she call home only to ask me for sex which I turned down but she insisted and I had to succumb to her request. This is not the kind of woman I want and am seriously confused about the whole thing because the Girl in question is not that good in bed.... The question now is, why must she always ask for sex even when she knows you are not in the mode. Is she on an assignment or what... Please I need you help guys.

POLITICS!! LA Times columnist thinks President Jonathan should be impeached

Joel Brinkley

LA Times Columnist, Joel Brinkley (pictured above) wrote that Nigeria is the most corrupt country in the world and feels president Goodluck Jonathan should be impeached. He wrote an article titled  Nigeria’s Squandered Opportunity on Friday March 22nd. See it below...
Just outside President Goodluck Jonathan’s office sat 17 ambulances, just in case he or one of his aides fell ill. They were seldom if ever used.
No actual health-care facility nationwide had as many, and in fact a few still have none at all. But as soon as a Nigerian newspaper took a photo of the ambulances and published a story about them, they suddenly disappeared — probably to an underground garage.
Jonathan is president of Nigeria, which should be among the world’s most prosperous nations. After all, it produces an estimated 2.4 million barrels of oil each and every day. With oil now selling at $93.61 a barrel, that’s $224 million in income daily. And yet many hospitals can’t afford to buy an ambulance. The reason, in my view: Nigeria is the most corrupt nation on earth.

Wizkid may return to former music label, EME

If everything goes according to plan, Wizkid will soon be returning to his former music label, EME Music Group, this is according to a reliable industry source. The source revealed to theGlumas exclusively that Wizkid and EME bosses have been going back and forth for the last couple of weeks through their lawyers trying to agree on new terms of them working together again.

"Wizkid leaving EME was just his way of pushing the bosses at the label to take him seriously and increase his earning percentage. When he joined EME he wasn't a star but then he became a mega star and was making a lot of money for the label and they still didn't increase his earning percentage so he took a walk. Now they are working on a new contract that will favour Wizkid." The source said

We hear in the new contract being drafted, EME will not take a dime from Wizkid's international deals. When they start working together again

Tiger Woods back as world number one!

After years of trying, Tiger Woods has finally regained his ranking as the number one golfer in the world. Tiger on Monday March 25th won the Arnold Palmer Invitational for the eighth time, returning him to the top of the world ranking, a position he vacated in October 2010 due to his sex scandal, failed marriage and various leg injuries.

Just one week ago Tiger Woods announced his relationship with Lindsey Vonn. I see she's doing his body and soul a lot of good. Good for him!

Waje In Her New Dazzling Nude Postures In New Video ‘I Wish’

Waje looks quite vivacious in her new “I Wish” video. We really can’t wait to see what concept they came up with for this stunning song, which leaked online a while back to rave reviews.

They made use of a lot of artsy looking locations and a lot of fashion, yes, including a birthday suit. Waje‘s ‘outfit’ is rather suggestive of vulnerability, a theme prevalent in the “I Wish” single.

Celeberating Chinua Achebe

Chinua Achebe, the Nigerian writer who was black Africa’s most widely read novelist and one of the continent’s towering men of letters, has died after a brief illness, his publisher and agent said in London on Friday. He was 82.

Few details were immediately available.

Besides novels, Mr. Achebe’s works included powerful essays and poignant short stories and poems rooted in the countryside and cities of his native Nigeria, before and after independence from British colonial rule. His most memorable fictional characters were buffeted and bewildered by the conflicting pulls of traditional African culture and invasive Western values.

For inspiration, Mr. Achebe drew on his own family history as part of the Igbo nation of southeastern Nigeria, a people victimized by the racism of British colonial administrators and then by the brutality of military dictators from other Nigerian ethnic groups.

NYSC Justifies De-camping of Corps Member over Dress Code

Authorities of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) recently defended their action on the de-camping of one Miss Tolulope Ekundayo, a corps member who allegedly refused to wear trouser at the Sagamu Orientation Camp in Ogun.
Ekundayo, a 2013 Batch 'A' corps member posted to Ogun was de-camped on March 8, following disagreement between her and the authorities over her refusal to comply with camp dress code.
Ekundayo had insisted that wearing trouser negated her Christian faith and opted to wear skirt, instead of trouser.

QUICK ONE! Away from the Fun and School work...

“I and Alamieyeseigha are like Siamese twins” – GEJ declares…

To start with everybody [US, UK, UN] is gradually withdrawing from Nigeria because of GEJ bold move in pardoning the Almighty Alams.

President Jonathan has described as ‘painful’, the fact that Nigerians are protesting the presidential pardon he gave to himself, even though officially it was the name of his former boss, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha that was written. According to a source at the villa, the president told a close confidante that what people fail to realise is that granting Alams a pardon is like pardoning himself because “I and Alams are like Siamese twins conjoined at the hips. Unfortunately for me, he has fatter hips, that’s why he can easily do inter-continental gender swap but I can’t. Do you know what he knows about me and my time in Bayelsa? If he whines those hips and opens his mouth, it will crush me, so when he said he wanted pardon, I honestly had no choice.”

Meanwhile President Jonathan is considering amending the constitution to give himself powers to grant himself perpetual pardon for anything he has committed, is committing and will commit as president. To achieve this, he has employed as consultant, the judge who granted a perpetual injunction to former Rivers governor, Peter Odili, shielding him from arrest and prosecution.

Corpers fear for their safety as snake finds way into hostel [PHOTO]

Members of the National Youth Service Corps undertaking their orientation exercise at the Ondo state camp now live in fear for their safety as a black snake was discovered yesterday in the male  hostel causing panic among ‘corpers’.

According to one of the youth ‘corpers’ who craved anonymity, “I was so scared. The safety of corps members aren’t even guaranteed. The toilets are messed up. We live like prisoners and refugees. God help us.”

Another member  said, “Government pays no attention to the safety and welfare of corpers at all. Imagine a dangerous reptile under someone’s bed.”

The snake was reportedly found and killed by the corpers in the male hostel.

University of Calabar sacks 5 Lectures and demotes 10 for “Academic Dishonesty”

She said four of the lecturers sacked were allegedly involved in plagiarism while the fifth one was involved in alleged financial fraud.

The lecturers demoted gained promoted after they published their works in fake journals and then submitted them. The university’s Public Relations Officer, Effiong Eyo, said they are now “to refund all monies earned from their unmerited promotion and barred from promotion for the next six years.”

The statement reads:

Wanking becoming Profitable : Sperm-Selling Business Booming In Ghana And Around The World

Any commodity is a marketable commodity, and by recent trends, sperm is now a commodity.

“Selling of sperm is gradually becoming the new business frontier booming in Ghana because it has many uses in today’s society: making babies, sperm banks, and putting volume in limp hair in order to make it long,” a medical student at the University of Ghana Medical School, who sold sperm five times to a Fertility Centre in Accra for GH¢10, 000, told Economic Tribune (ET).

The medical student, who gave his name only as Mensah, said even though selling of sperm was a risky business, it was also rewarding as well.
